Ryan Slone

Ryan Slone is a designer and educator whose work focuses on social-advocacy poster design, speculative processes, and constraint-led provocations. He received his MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier, Vermont, and studied at the Miami Ad School in Atlanta, Georgia. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Arkansas School of Art in the United States.
For over a decade, Ryan served as an art director for DOXA/VANTAGE in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His previous work experience includes Pentagram in New York City with Michael Bierut, and Unboundary in Atlanta, Georgia. Clients have included the following: Polo Ralph Lauren, The New York Times, Yale School of Architecture, FedEx, ArtsMemphis, Southern Alberta Art Gallery, and NoMa.
His work has been featured in numerous international publications and exhibitions including Graphis, Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition, The International Biennial of the Poster in Mexico, Golden Bee Global Biennale of Graphic Design, Ecuador Poster Bienal, Mut zur Wut, Poster Stellars, Peru Design Biennial, PosterFest Budapest, B.I. International Poster Biennale of Korea, Cyprus Poster Triennial, Poster Quadrennial Bardejov, Taiwan International Graphic Design Awards, Design Research Society, British Design & Art Direction, Communication Arts, AIGA, HOW, and PRINT.
